The Gates Millennium Scholars Program
- The Gates Millennium Scholars Program requires a minimum GPA of 3.3, a U.S. Citizenship, U.S. national or permanent residency, and you must fall under the ethnicity of African American/Black, American Indian - Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic American. If you check off for these three things then you are eligible for the program.
- The close date for the program is January 13, 2016 and the program supports the cost of education by covering unmet need and self-help aid, including graduate school funding for continuing Scholars in the areas of computer science, education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health or science.
- The inspiration behind the scholarship program is that they believe all American citizens must have access to higher education if our nation wants to sustain and advance itself as a global, competitive democracy in the new millennium.
