Pierce College Summer Bridge

Attention Seniors!


Check your emails! Pierce sent emails to all seniors who were accepted into the Summer Bridge Program. This email was sent on May 8, 2014. Check your SPAM folder!


IF and only IF you have been accepted into the summer bridge program, continue reading below!


The program  will begin on June 16th and end on August 7th. You will be enrolled in a total of 6 units and classes will take place Monday to Thursday from 8:00am-11:25am


You MUST attend the mandatory student/parent orientation on Saturday, June 14 from 8am to 12 noon in the South Gym. You MUST bring picture ID to this meeting. At this orientation you will be taking a campus tour and registering for your classes. If you do not attend this mandatory registration orientation, you will be moved to the wait list and will only be able to enroll in the Summer Bridge Program if space becomes available.


Keep checking your emails for additional information regarding the mandatory orientation and to RSVP to the event.

"Youth Service Academy" Program

This is a really cool opportunity for the CLASS OF 2015!


If you are interested in interning with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) THIS SUMMER and are interested in getting PAID then this post is one you want to read!


Students will work Monday through Thursday from 1:00pm to 5:00pm AND attend a mandatory work experience class on Fridays from 1pm to 3pm.


Students will be paid $9 an hour AND earn work experience credit- you will receive 5-10 credits per semester without pay.


APPLICATION DEADLINE DUE: MAY 28, 2014 BY 5:00pm


Requirements:


-MUST be a senior for 2014-2015 school year
-Minimum of a 2.0 GPA
-Right to work documents: Social Security Card, Birth Certificate, and Photo ID card
-Reliable transportation to Downtown Los Angeles where the job site is located
-Commitment to the program from July 2014 to August 2015 (December 2015-if participant attends college in the LA area).
