Larry H. Parker Scholarship

The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker Community Scholarship is a one-time scholarship that will be awarded to college-bound high school seniors who have demonstrated loyalty to their community.

The Law of Offices of Larry H. Parker values education and offers this new scholarship to empower community youth and provide resources to help them attend and stay in college.

African-American Leaders for Tomorrow

The AALT Program is a four-day long residential summer program that is held on the campus of the California State University Dominguez Hills. Sixty students are hand selected and receive leadership training and attend workshops and topics such as college experience , career development and financial literacy. Students live on campus at CSUDH. Housing, meals, program materials, as well as transportation during the conference will be provided at no cost to the participants; and for students living outside of the Los Angeles county transportation to the conference will also be provided.

Requirements:

  • A student who is currently a sophomore or junior with a 2.5 or higher GPA, and is in good academic standing as of January 1, 2015.
  • Demonstration of leadership potential.
  • Current high school transcript.
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Essay (2 required)

California Legislative Black Caucus Program

For more than five years, the California Legislative Black Caucus (CLBC) California Scholars program has proudly recognized and rewarded the educational excellence and personal achievement of California college-bound high school seniors and accomplished post-secondary students enrolled in colleges and universities.
The CLBC California Scholars program awards financial assistance scholarships to a select group of deserving students. College costs can be a roadblock to educational opportunities for students striving to complete their college education.
The CLBC Scholarship Program was established to assist deserving students by offering financial assistance to help meet educational expenses. 

Requirements:

  • Scholarship candidates must be full-time students in good academic standing at an accredited college or university. 
  • Graduating high school seniors with written proof of acceptance at an accredited institution of higher learning are also eligible.
  • Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 to be considered for this scholarship.

Ballet Folklorico Aztlan de CSUN Scholarship

EACH APPLICANT MUST MEET ALL OF THE FOLLOWING ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Be of Latina/o, Chicana/o, Hispanic Heritage
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • Be a California State University, Northridge undergraduate student, BFA de CSUN member, and/or a graduating High School Senior
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Applicants are evaluated on the following criteria: 
  • Academic Record 
  • Academic Plans and Career Goals 
  • Financial Need (for educational purposes)
  • Community Service 
  • Compelling Essay Response
