$1000 Gen and Kelly Tanabe Student Scholarship

The Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship is a merit-based program that helps students fulfill their dreams of a higher education. The scholarship is named for Gen and Kelly Tanabe, best-selling authors on           education, whose generous donations fund this program.



Eligibility: -Applicants must be from 9th-12th grade

Amount: $1000

Since 1989, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation has helped dreams come true for more than 5,000 outstanding students. In high school, these students began their journey of academic excellence, positive leadership and dedication to service. They are continuing throughout their careers to serve others and realize their full potential to change the world and create an enduring legacy.

 -Highschool Seniors
 -Selection is based on character, personal merit and commitment. Merit is shown                                  through leadership, academic achievement and motivation to serve and succeed.

Amount: $4,000-$20,000

Number of awards: 250 (scholarship may be renewable)

CSUN Dreamers Scholarship

Hey Seniors!  
California State University, Northridge, is pleased to announce their CSUN Dreamers Scholarship. So they just announced a new scholarship for undocumented students, ie AB 540, DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), etc. so if you might be thinking about CSUN but not sure if you can get enough financial aid, the CSUN Dreamers Scholarship will provide much needed financial support for undergraduate students who are undocumented.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • AB 540, DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), or other undocumented status
  • Enrolled at least half-time as an undergraduate student
  • Minimum GPA of 2.50
Application Process and Deadlines:
  • A STARS online scholarship application must be submitted through Financial Aid website at http://www.csun.edu/financialaid/<http://www.csun.edu/financialaid/>
*Respond to 2 out of 3 questions (250 word max each)
  • September 1, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. is the deadline for applicants seeking a scholarship for housing 
  • October 1,2014 at 9:00 p.m. is the deadline for all other applicants
Selection and Timeline:
  • Applications and supporting materials will be reviewed by  selction committee
  • Recipients will be notified of Fall awards by the end of October 2015
