Financial aid is a big component in your college search. Be sure you are well-informed about all the opportunities that are available. Here are some useful links to get you started:

There are thousands of scholarships on these websites and your profile could match with many of them so take the time to check them out and read about financial aid. Come into the College Center if you have any questions or concerns.

Sheila Gold Foundation

Sheila Gold Foundation Scholarship Program 

To Future Matadors!!!
The Sheila Gold Foundation, a California charitable trust, has established a scholarship for full-time, middle-income, first-time freshmen students attending CSUN in a degree program. The scholarship may be renewed for up to an additional 3 years. The maximum scholarship is $7,000 per year.

If selected to receive this scholarship, you will be required to submit a letter from your employer indicating where you are employed and the number of hours you work per week. If you do not yet have a job, you will be required to find a job within 30 days and submit a letter from your employer.

BU Trustee Scholarship Program

Earn a four-year, full tuition scholarship to Boston University

Boston University's prestigious merit-based award recognizes students who show outstanding academic leadership abilities. A Trustee Scholarship covers full undergraduate tuition plus the University orientation and mandatory undergraduate student fees and is renewable for four years if certain criteria are met.

*Deadline for submission is on December 1, 2014.

SCHOLARSHIPS for DREAMers

To Future Dream Scholars,
TheDream.US provides college scholarships to highly motivated DREAMers who want to get a college education but cannot afford it. Their scholarships will help cover your tuition and fees for an associate’s or bachelor’s degree.  This scholarship is available to high school seniors or high school graduates with demonstrated financial need who are first time college students and seek to earn a career-ready associate’s or bachelor’s degree.  Scholars are selected from a nationwide pool of applicants.

Middle Class Scholarship program

*On July 1, 2013 Governor Jerry Brown signed a historic legislation aimed at making higher education more affordable. 

Middle Class Scholarship
  • New, transfer and returning students to UC and CSU with income up to $150,000 are eligible!
  • To apply you must complete a Free Application for Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.gov.

SENIORS, Save the date for this year's Cash for College Night! 

Cash for college is a great opportunity to learn about financial aid, the application process and many other aspects of the decision-making process.

At this outstanding event you will:

  • Have the opportunity to access financial aid resources 
  • Get information about special programs such as Middle class scholarship and the California Dream Act
  • Meet representatives from many different colleges and universities. 
  • Get information on the application and decision-making process of applying to college 

Be sure to bring your unofficial transcript for early admission opportunities!

This event will be held on Wednesday November 5 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
